Move-out cleaning is turnover-grade scrubbing scheduled to a landlord, buyer, or closing-day deadline. The scope is wider than a standard deep clean because every surface a landlord or buyer might inspect needs to look the way it did before move-in, including surfaces that recurring residential cleaning never touches. Standard move-out scope:
- Inside every cabinet and drawer in the kitchen, bathrooms, and laundry. Cabinet interiors are usually skipped on standard cleans but landlords always check them.
- Full appliance interiors. Inside oven, inside fridge, inside microwave, inside dishwasher, range hood and filter, washer and dryer drum and lint trap.
- Light fixtures, ceiling fans, and vent covers, every one in the home, including the ones in spare bedrooms that haven’t been used.
- Baseboards top to bottom through the entire home, including the run behind appliances the previous tenant pulled out.
- Tubs, showers, sinks, and toilets with full grout and scale work, even on bathrooms that look clean.
- All floors including under appliances, behind furniture if any was left, and the corners that vacuum heads usually miss.
- Patio, balcony, garage swept and reset.
Move-in cleaning covers the same scope plus a wipe-down of fixtures, finishes, and surfaces left dusty from the previous owner’s punch-out work. Many Blackman and Three Rivers buyers book a move-in clean before furniture delivery so the home is actually clean when their stuff arrives.
Pricing on move-out cleans typically runs 10 to 20% above the deep-clean range for the same home size, about $475 to $725 for a 3-bedroom, 2-bathroom home, and $725 to $1,050 for larger homes. The MTSU campus rental cycle creates a calendar crunch every May and August around Greenland Drive and Middle Tennessee Boulevard; we recommend booking three to four weeks ahead during those windows if you have a hard landlord deadline.
